Changes from 1.06 Oct 23, 1993
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This version really came about because I was starting a support BBS for
another program of mine (RIPGRAF)... HyperANSI never needed a support BBS
because apparently nobody was using it? Anyways, this version fixes a couple
of bugs (Thanks to Jeff Grimmet for bringing them to my attention).
Bug 1
Fixed the "lock-up" problem when parsing weird ANSI commands. It wasn't
really a lock-up, but it would leave the mouse and menu inactivated. The
program will now ignore the command and continue parsing the file.
Bug 2
Fixed a problem with the file requester. If a file was loaded and then
you move or delete that file (from a CLI) and bring up the ASL requester
again, the file would still display the name of the file just deleted.
Clicking "okay" would then display "something" when it shouldn't do
anything. The program will still display the file name the same as before,
but will not try to displaying it.
New feature
Setting up a BBS required the designing of menu's. I did this with HyperANSI
(of course) but found that when I had a menu with only a few lines in it,
the program would add a bunch of line feeds to the file (leaving alot of
dead space between the menu and prompt). The new option will save *ONLY* as
much of the screen as you've used, and not add any extra LF's. To use this
goto to the Edit menu and select ANSI parameters, now click on the "Number
of rows" cycle gadget until it reads AUTO, then click USE or SavePrefs (to
keep it on AUTO permanently)
I also went through all the code and cleaned it up a bit. No bugs that I
could find?
Register?
~~~~~~~~~
If you like the program please register, SUPPORT SHAREWARE!
*** SEND WHATEVER YOU FEEL IT IS WORTH TO YOU! ****
Those who send registrations of $25 US ($30CAN) or more (yeah right) will
still be mailed a disk containing the latest version of the program along
with the 400+ ANSI files. Everyone else will get a card of thanks, provided
your registration is more than the cost of a card and postage <G>
If you've already registered HyperANSI... then please use this version for
as long as you want. All future updates will be handled in the same manner
as this one. You (and all the people who haven't got a clue what shareware
means) will be able to download the latest UNCRIPPLED versions of HyperANSI
from your local BBS.
Bugs?
~~~~~
Well, if Jeff hadn't of let me know of the above bugs... I probably would be
the only one using v1.07 (cause I needed that "AUTO number of rows" thingy)
Does the program work well for you? Most bugs are pretty minor, and can be
fixed in matter of minutes. If I don't know about them, it's not likely to
be fixed, is it?
Needed Stuff?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A PAL version? I dunno, haven't heard from many outside of North America...
External ANSI codes? Being able to replace each ANSI command with an external
one's (for specific BBS codes).
One registered user mentioned IFF brush importing (pixel -> half characters)
Is anybody else interested in that?
